Over the course of the semester in Digital Art, I have learned how to use Photoshop effectively. I learned to digitally paint images on it as well as manipulate photos to make them look as if they were exploding or sliced and combining old and new photos together. My favorite project that I worked on was the Painting project, where I used a photo of my dog to paint and recreate using the Wacom drawing tablets. This particular project was my favorite because A) I got to draw my pup, and B) I was able to learn to use the tablet for drawing and painting which as a result I would draw when I had finished a project early to keep myself busy. Consequently the digital painting became my favorite part of digital art and would actually like to pursue a career that I can draw concept art for video games or movies.
Howling By Pete-Light
Through this project I learned to use the liquify filter and manipulate a photo (in this case Pete's photo.) I turned him into his ultimate role as the Moon God of the Tundra, and is being worshipped by the Bear-Sharks, legendary creatures of... the moon. I picked these particular photos because I am an avid fan of Star Wars. I took pictures from the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras and combined them into a sort of battle scene. The background is just simply a picture of Siberia frozen. I learned a much easier way of cropping and editing photos to get what I want out of a picture. The only thing I would like to improve on is editing the position of some of the elements to get a better perspective.
A Man's Best Friend is the title of this work. The bright coloring of the background creates a sort of gleeful image, and of course the dog's demeanor helps as well. The dog sits patiently, tail wagging, and smile crossing it's face creating a warm and welcome picture for whomever comes to look at it. If I could improve upon anything it may be the fur as it was difficult to paint because of it being rather short.
I USED THE NORMAL BLUE AND WHITE PATTERN OF THE SCHOOL, WITH A BULLDOG IN THE BACKGROUND WITH MUSICAL NOTES.
space in a 3d image is an illusion that gives a sense of depth to an image. Here, the planet explodes as debris is project and in all directions, the small size of the debris allows you to see over and through the explosion itself. For my Digital Art Pretest, I decided to manipulate a photo of myself using any of the skills I know from photoshop (most of which I gained from doing the project itself). The picture was taken aboard the USS American Victory, so I felt it best that I give the picture an early 1900s black and white feel to it. I used a blur tool to put myself sort of out of focus and took away a lot of the dark shadows around the mast.
